Homework, Smomework.

Trevor complains and complains about doing his homework. Truthfully, I think he enjoys doing his homework. He is such a smart kid and whips through it. He can do math problems in half the time I can and he can do it in his head. I don't think it is the doing the homework, I think it is what the homework is taking him away from that he does not like.

Does this look like the face of a child that does not like homework?

How to Eat an Apple.

Yes, this is how Griffin ate an apple. Yes, he is laying on the kitchen counter eating the apple. I can't say it enough, "Griffin is a CHARACTER!" I don't know where he comes up with these things, but he does. He keeps me on my feet every single day.

Too young for School?

Monkey see, Monkey do... Griffin wants to go to school too.
Griffin watches his brothers go off to school everyday and he thinks maybe he should go too. I hope he is excited about school in 4 years when it is actually his turn to start school.

Show Us Where You Live Friday- Children's Room

This week's edition of Kelly's "Show Us Where You Live" Friday is Children's rooms.
This is Trevor's room. He wanted a sports room. The penants around the top of the room are either from games he has been to or that friends have given to him. He has a penant hanging from his mom and dad's colleges also. I love Trevor's room. It is so bright and and fun and it is usually clean. Trevor is very neat when it comes to his room. This is Nolan's room. His room is currently in transition. As a toddler, he had an adorable airplane room. I had even painted a large airplane on one wall. It was very hard for me to cover the plane with the orange paint. Nolan is now way into hockey and his favorite color is orange. His room is still a work in progress. There are still airplane things around but they are slowly being replaced with hockey decorations (although hockey stuff is difficult to find). I also am planning to make him a headboard. I really wanted to make one with old wooden hockey sticks but I have had trouble finding them so I think I may just make an orange upolstered headboard. This is Griffin's very rarely used nursery. It would actually be more appropriate to call it Griffin's closet because it is used only to store his clothing. I love the bedding that my mom had made for him but I have not done much more to his room. Maybe if he starts sleeping in his room I will have more motivation to decorate it. I love this room. It is small but has a beautiful, big window and a nice built-in bookcase.

See you next Friday when we tour offices. (I promise next week will be quick since our office is in a closet!)

Happy 16 Months, Tomorrow.

It is so hard for me to believe, but tomorrow Griffin will be 16 months! Griffin, my sweet boy, you are growing way to fast. Could you please just stay a baby for a little longer. You have become quite an affectionate boy. You give the biggest, best hugs with gentle pats on the back. It just melts my heart. You have become more vocal, saying ball, bath, shoe and your favorite words are dada and baba. You are a climber and you continue to get into everything. I love to kiss you rosy, chubby checks. You also have found that you can get your way with your brothers by screaming and throwing yourself on the ground. You, my friend, have us all figured out and wrapped around your finger. Please, Griffin just stay my sweet, not so innocent, baby for awhile more.

Fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend

What a fun, busy weekend we had. My sister came up for the weekend and we had company everyday. Lots of games were played. We played wiffle ball, softball, bocci ball, and a new game called Cans. Lets just say Cans is not my game, but I still had fun trying (Sorry to all my partners that I brought down with me). The boys went kayaking and there was even a boat ride. It was such a wonderful weekend, now it is back to work, school, and laundry!
Trevor kayaking
Nolan kayaking with Pam.
And what is a party without some dancing??

It's all about Baseball.

Lately, Nolan is all about baseball. He is always asking me to play catch with him. We have a lot of fun playing catch and Nolan is getting pretty good. So exciting, yesterday I got my OWN glove (before having my own glove, I would cram my hand into Trevor's glove). Hopefully it will improve my catch, ha. The best part about my new glove is that it is PINK (my very favorite color that I don't get to see a lot of having 3 boys!).

Have a great Memorial Day weekend. We are looking forward to the weekend. My favorite (and only) sister arrives today and we have a cookout (that is if we can get my mom's grill working) everyday this weekend. Good Times. I am sure we will go out on the boat in sweatshirts (it is not supposed to be too warm here), play some bocci and play some softball so I can use my new pink glove!

Enjoy your weekend!

Show us where you live Friday- Dining Room

It is time for Kelly's Show Us Where You Live, Dining Room Edition.

Since we have turned our infrequently used dining room into a well used playroom, I will share where we informally eat our meals. This is our kitchen eating area. As a family, we eat at this table. I would love a new table, but with three young boys it is not practical right now. This table is well loved with scratches and all. There are normally 6 chairs at the table, but Griffin broke one. I am on the hunt for a replacement that is similiar enough to pass as part of the set.

This is the view from the Family Room looking into the Kitchen.

Behind the french doors, is what was once the dinning room, now the boys playroom.

This is looking out to the deck and one of my favorite summer eating places, Outside!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next week for the Kids bedroom Edition of Show Us Where you Live.

It's burning a hole in my piggy bank.

Nolan asked me to put his money in the bank.

I said, "What money? Isn't your money in your piggy bank?"

Nolan responded, " No, put my money in the REAL bank."

He then proceeded to tell me that he needed to put his money in the bank because he did not want to spend it and he said,"If the money is in my piggy bank, I can see it and I will spend it!" He told me he wants to save his money for Lego Land. How cute is that. I know just how he feels about having money and needing to spend it (this is why I never have cash). Nolan is so generous with his money. Every day he asks me if he can buy me a coffee or if he can pay for everyone to get ice cream. He can be such a considerate young man. I love that about him!

Look, No Pants!

I am busy cleaning up in the kitchen and I am happy about how quiet it is in the family room. So quiet I am wondering what is going on, but I continue to straighten up the kitchen (as a mom of 3, you got to take the opportunity when it presents itself). After a few minutes, Griffin comes into the kitchen carrying a diaper (this is not rare, he often empties the basket of clean diapers). Again I continue to go about my business, until I see THIS...
(Sorry for the bum picture, but this is what I saw and it is so CUTE). You can also see the diaper laying behind him. Well this is the first time he has done this. As you can see, he was so proud of his accomplishment! He is just such a character. I tell him a million times a day how much I love him. He is such a delight, so funny and mischievous. How can you not just love him to pieces?

Pizza, hold the cheese.

So this dairy free diet is much harder than I had expected. He can't have some of his favorite foods like Annie's Mac and Cheese, Pirate Bootie Popcorn or pizza.
Well, he did have pizza.
Pizza with no cheese.
I think cheese makes the pizza, but Griffin seemed to enjoy it just the same without the cheese. I am not even sure his is supposed to have pizza crust, but he did. Once we get the final results back and if he truly has this allergy, I am going to request to meet with a nutritionist to get some ideas on what to feed him. I am realizing there is a lot of food made with dairy! Right now I dread meals for Griffin, because I just don't know what to feed him.

Beat him to it!

My husband has been saying all day he is going to do a post on the blog. The only reason he wants to do a post is because I mowed the lawn yesterday. He finds that very funny. I don't know why. I often mowed the lawn with the push mower before we had the tractor and I enjoyed it. I guess he just thinks it is funny to see a California girl mowing the lawn (I had never used a lawn mower before marrying him). I had fun on the tractor and I am sure I will mow the lawn again soon. I found it kind of relaxing.

I thought I would beat my husband to the post because he has also said he could post about my gray hairs (I have been obsessed with gray hairs lately) and who knows what else.

The most amazing thing in all this is that my husband can actually take a picture. He rarely uses the camera. I always joke about never being in any pictures. Well, he pulled the camera out to take a picture of me riding the tractor and here is the proof.

We are trying to teach our children manners. We would ideally like Griffin to use utensils. We know he is a little young to feed himself with utensils so we are okay with him using his fingers for now. I am not sure how I fell about eating like an animal. It is very funny to watch but I am sure it is not considered well mannered. Oh well, he will out grow it.

This is Trevor with a milk mustache, a vanilla milk mustache.

Manners are important, but so is having some fun!

American Idol.

So, Danny is not going to be the next American Idol (and I am so sad)...

...but maybe we have a future Idol??? A career as a drummer? He even has the crazy rock hair! Ha!

No More Training Wheels!

Nolan is now riding his bike with NO training wheels! He is doing a great job. Nolan likes to do things his way so when we took the training wheels off, he ignored his bike for weeks. Finally, after realizing the training wheels were not going back on the bike, he decided to learn to ride it. We knew you could do it and we are very proud of you, Nolan.

Having a ball...

Lately, Griffin has been walking around with a ball in his mouth, sort of like a dog. He did not learn this from our dog because she never has a toy in her mouth. Not sure where this started but I am sure it will continue based of the positive reinforcements he is getting such as our laughing and our imitating him. He is such a CHARACTER!

Griffin went to see the GI Doctor today and she seems to think that Griffin may have a milk protein allergy among other things. For now we are going to take all milk products out of his diet. He is going to have blood tests done this week to check for allergies and also check to see if his pancreas is working to its full potential along with other things as well. I pray that this is only a milk allergy and nothing more. Taking milk out his diet will not be easy but it is very manageable, some of the other things that she is looking at could be more difficult to manage. The Doctor thought he was so cute, happy and BUSY!

Three Little Monkeys...

...sitting on a couch. A very rare moment. A moment when all three boys are just sitting together, relaxing. How Wonderful!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day Mom (my mom) and Mum (myMIL). We are truly blessed to have both of you and the boys could not be more fortunate to have the Gia and Nana that they have. Trevor, Nolan and Griffin would also like to wish their Godmothers a very happy Mother's Day. We love all of you! To all the mom's, have a wonderful, relaxing Mother's Day.
