Today was my first full day back to work in over 7 years. It was so weird to be inside all day long. I did not even know it was raining until it was 4:30 and I was leaving my office.Thankfully, I am only working 2 days a week. I guess the benefit to not having a window in my office is that I will never know when it is nice out so I can't be wishing I was sitting in the sun instead of in the office. Everyday I am at work, I will imagine that it is raining out!

It was so weird kissing these sweet boys goodbye as I left for work for the first time.
Then I drove this adorable little guy to preschool. Unbelievable that he is old enough for the toddler room of preschool. It was his first day of school. Both he and I were a little apprehensive about saying goodbye, but we both survived. The very best part of my day was when I went to pick him up. He had the biggest smile and came running to me. He gave me the longest, sweetest hug. It made my day all worthwhile. He really knows how to make me feel loved.

The report from his first day of school was very good. He played hard, loved being outside and did some sand art. I think he is going to like school.

And when I arrived at home by two big boys asked how my day at work was. My kids are the best!

A Rare Moment.

A moment so rare that in hindsight, I should not have interrupted.Trevor and Nolan for a short while where laying nicely next to one another. They were distracted by "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" on TV, but still!

They do have to moments when they are sweet to one another, but they are just moments. I so look forward to the day when they understand what a blessing it is to have a brother.

And yes, the camera ended the moment.

Things are changing at the Gava home. After being a stay at home mom for 7 years, I am going back to work. Well, I have actually been working for a few months, but mostly from home. Griffin would occasionally have a babysitter, but since I did most of my work from home and I was working very part time it did not impact him too much. My working did not at all effect Trevor or Nolan's schedule. But now I am going to be working 2 full days, in an office. Now that I will be in the office, Griffin will be going to daycare. I am sure he will do great, but I am nervous. I am so going to miss this little guy. It will be good for him and it will be good for me, too. When I get sad about being away from my boys, I must remind myself that I will have the best of both worlds, I will only work 2 days and have the rest of the days to spend with my favorite boys!

The Thought that Counts.

Nolan is so thoughtful. He is always thinking of others.
Today he picked a bouquet for me. Dandelions are not my favorite flower, but this may be one of my favorite bouquets. It came from one of my favorite people and it is the thought that counts!

A Day at the Park.

Yesterday we went to the park to soak up the sun and enjoy the beautiful day.
The sun was shinning, the sky was blue and the clouds were white. But there was occasional rain drops.. it was so weird. It did not stop our fun. The boys ran around and played. Trevor took some breaks to read his book. It was a beautiful afternoon.

Red Sox

Instead of a birthday party, Trevor wanted to celebrate his 9th birthday at a Red Sox game. Yesterday he went to the game with his father and his papa.
Even though there was a rain delay, intermittent rain showers and a big Red Sox loss, Trevor had a good time. He ate a lot of good food and got to see his favorite player, Varitek, catch. He really wants to go to Fenway Park again, maybe when the Red Sox are winning and the sun is shinning.

Mad about Plaid.

I love, love, love little boys in plaid.
This is some of Griffin's summer wardrobe.
As you can tell, I am slightly obsessed with plaid.
Trevor and Nolan also sport their fair share of plaid, too. They are just a little more vocal about some of my choices.
For as long as I can, I will dress my boys in plaid.
What can I say, I am mad about plaid!

Out of the Mouth of Trevor.

I don't want to forget some of the things about Trevor at 9. He loves to say "Rock on blank" like "Rock on California" or "Rock on Mom". He often says "peace" and gives the peace symbol. Sometimes he says "peace out". It just cracks me up some of the things he says and how similar they to things I said 25+ years ago.
He is really starting to get into music. He has favorite songs and likes to listen to certain artists.
He is 65 pounds and 52 inches tall, both the 50%.
He loves all electronics. He loves to read. He recently finished the Percy Jackson series and is now reading the Artemus Foul series. Soccer is his favorite sport.
He enjoys spending time with friends but also really enjoys alone time.
He is becoming fresh at times and can talk back, but he is a wonderful child.
{He looks so much like my sister and mom in these pictures, wow.}

Big Foot.

Griffin is growing way to fast. He is 2 years 2 months, he wears size 3T clothes, he sleeps in a big boy bed and his feet are HUGE!I took him today to buy some cute little leather sandals for the summer... he will not be getting any LITTLE shoes... his feet are measuring 10 double wide. As a matter of fact, I had to special order him some BIG leather sandals.I was able to get him a pair of sneakers for the Summer. Griffin, I love everything about you but please don't rush it! There is nothing wrong with be 2 and being the size of a 2 year old.

A Happy Easter.

We had a great Easter. My sister came as a surprise from NYC for Easter. It was a lot of fun. We spent a lot of time outside. The weather was absolutely beautiful. I tried really hard to get a picture of the three boys together. It is next to impossible to get them all to sit together and take a picture. I wish I could get one good picture of the three of them on every holiday. Maybe when they are 20 they will be willing to cooperate. The boys had fun searching for eggs. We hid over 90 eggs for them to find.

We even had a visit from the Easter bunny. Hope you all had a wonderful Easter.

A Practice Hunt.

Tonight we had an Easter egg hunt with friends. It was Griffin's first egg hunt and he needs a lot more practice before he gets the award for finding the most eggs. He was much more into playing baseball. Even though he found all of 2 eggs with lots of encouragement, he looked adorable with his Easter basket.
Trevor and Nolan had a lot of fun, too.

Nolan dropped his basket and all his eggs, but saved the eggs before they rolled into the water.

Trevor was trying to reach an egg way up in the tree.

Also, my sweet husband brought some beautiful flowers home to me today. He rarely does this so it was super sweet and special.
