We are back.

We survived Odyssey of the Mind World Finals.
We had a blast. There is so much to tell, but it will have to wait until tomorrow.
We are off to spend the day with family and friends.
Happy Memorial Day.

Fortune Cookie

Last night we had take out and Trevor was so excited about his fortune cookie. That was until he opened the cookie to find this fortune...He was only disappointed for about a second and then he started to laugh!

Out of the Mouth of Nolan.

Tonight Nolan told me he wants me to quit work and be a Lady again! He often tells me to change my mind, if he does not like a decision I have made.

He says "grills" instead of "girls".
The other day he saw a teenage boy holding a teenage girls hand. He said that the girl was to old to have her hand held and that it was inappropriate.

Third Time.

Griffin will be getting his 3rd set of tubes the first week of June. I am praying that the third time will be the charm. His previous tubes have not stayed in for any length of time so this time he will be getting long term tubes. They have more risk associated with them but they hopefully will last longer and keep him out of the OR for awhile. He is also going to have his adenoids removed. Hopefully this will help with the ear infections as well.I know I say this all the time but he has been through enough and needs to just have an opportunity to feel well and be a happy 2 year old! I always get so nervous about this and second guess the decision, but I know it is the best thing to do for Griffin. So even though it is our 4th time walking Griffin into the OR, it is still just as stressful as the first time.

Trevor's weekend.

This kid is so busy. Between raising money for Odyssey of the Mind, playing baseball, practicing guitar and playing in a soccer tournament... this kid has no free time.

Bright and early Saturday, he and I went to sell concessions to raise money for Odyssey Worlds (we leave a week from Wednesday, yay!).
After, he played in the worlds most exciting baseball game. There were a lot of walks... it did not take long for the kids to realize that if they just don't swing, they will eventually get a walk. This is the first year that the kids pitch, the games are long and about as exciting as watching paint dry. Sunday he participated in a soccer tournament with his travel soccer team. It was a blast. He had this mad soccer ball person shirt made at the tournament. I get so nervous during the soccer games. Trevor usually plays defense but in one game he played on offense for about 2 minutes. In those 2 minutes, he scored a goal. It was really exciting. Way to go, Trevor!

Pancakes Please.

This new little gadget, the pancake pen from William Sonoma, has made making pancakes so much fun.
This morning I made Nolan's name, some flowers, hearts and the letter G.
Nolan loved them and so did I. I might make pancakes every day!

Check out Griffin's new ride!
He loves it.
Now if he would just learn to stear!
Thank you Gia.

Little Drummer Boy

A new favorite. Metal baking dishes and a spatula equal a really loud drum set. Griffin thinks he is quite the drummer, I think he is trying to see how much noise one little boy can make. Yesterday he played for me while I was making dinner... I am one lucky momma!

Blue Lips

When you give a two year old some pretzel m&m's, he will turn into a blue lipped monster. And these pretzel m&m's are yummy, both Griffin and I think so!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mother's Day Mum. Thank you for raising such a wonderful husband and father. Thanks for loving me like one of your own and thanks for being such a wonderful Nana to my boys.

TG, Happy Mother's Day. Griffin is so fortunate to have you, and so am I.

Mom, Happy Mother's Day. I am who I am because of you. Thank you for ALL that you do for me, Rob and the boys. You are the BEST mom to me and the BEST gia to my boys. I am so blessed to have you as a mom but even more blessed to have my mom as my BEST friend!

Thanks you to my boys for giving me the best job in the world.

Moms, enjoy your day!

A Precious Gift.

Griffin made his first art project at school.
He made it for me for Mother's Day.
It is so precious and sweet.
It brought tears to my eyes.

He painted this box and the little tag attached reads:
I took an ordinary box
As empty as can be
I filled with a special gift
And painted it carefully.

But please do not ever open it
Just leave the ribbon tied
And hold it tightly near your heart
Because my love for you is inside.

Brace Face.

Trevor had his first orthodotics appointment. There is some (very little) good news when it comes to Trevor and orthoditics. His upper jaw is e.x.t.r.e.m.e.l.y crowded but his adult teeth are turning and wiggling into the small spaces that are provided. And this is good news, very good news. It means he will avoid having to have baby teeth extracted. Well that is about it for good news.

Trevor has a l.o.n.g road ahead of him. He is {not so} fortunate to be one in only 3% (along with me) with a underbite / crossbite. He will start very soon with a palate expander. He is not excited about this at all.

He asked me today on our way to the appointment if he were going to be getting any "painful injections". Funny kid. No painful injections just news he did not want to hear!

Something to Talk About.

Griffin loves to talk on the phone to his Gia. Today he talked to her for over 10 minutes. When I ask for the phone, he says no. It does not make sense to us when he is talking to her, but it makes sense to him. He goes on and on. It is clearly a two conversation. It is so cute. He will sit with the phone or walk around with the phone. He just loves to talk on the phone.

I asked my mom if she gets bored talking to him for minutes on end but she says no... she puts the phone on speaker and has quite the conversation with him. He has the best Gia.

Not the News We Wanted.

So Griffin went to the Pediatrician yesterday. After 3 sleepless nights we decided it was time to have his ear checked out. I would have taken him sooner, but I thought he has tubes and surely they must be working. Well, he does have an ear infection in his right ear(and I feel so bad for not taking him sooner). The doctor put him on some very strong antibiotics because of his history of severe ear infections that are not responsive to most antibiotics. But the worst news and the news that I was totally not expecting (seeing he just had his tubes put in in November), is that the tube in his right ear is no longer there. It must have fallen out. The tube in his left ear is still in place and working. Not what we wanted to hear and not good news at all! I am sure we will be getting Griffin his 3rd set of tubes before 2010 ends. The good news is that he seems to already be feeling better. He is so sweet and happy even when he is not feeling well. We are so fortunate that he is so good natured!

The past few days.

Well, I wish I had something really exciting to report, but I don't. The days have been busy with lots of running around, baseball, work and yard work. The nights have been sleepless due to one very cute little boy.

Trevor and Nolan have started playing baseball. We had a few weeks of no weekend sports and let me tell you how nice it was. But now we are back to having our Saturdays jam packed with games. I took Trevor to his game and Rob took Nolan to his. I forgot the camera as I was rushing out of the house at 7:30 am. Trevor is not a morning person and I was more concerned about making sure he had his shoes, glove and head on, than I was about my camera... next week! He won his game (even though they are not really supposed to be keeping score). Nolan marched in a parade and then had his game. He says his team won, too.

On Thursday, Nolan had his 1st grade music. He was so funny. He gets very shy and nervous at these type of things. He did great though. He was in the back row and was hard to see at times but he was singing and dancing through the whole thing.

We had mulch delivered and now starts one of my least favorite jobs, Yard Work! I love for my yard to look nice, but I am not much for doing yard work. I hate to get my hands dirty. Yesterday, we pulled some weeds and edged around the garden beds.Today, Rob is going to lay the mulch. Fortunately, I have to take Trevor to a Odyssey of the Mind event... I am feeling just horrible about not being able to help (yeah, right). I will be so thrilled to come home to a beautifully mulched yard.

Griffin has been horrible at night. For the past few nights, he has been up screaming at least 3 times a night. We thought maybe he had an ear infection, but keep putting it off because he has been so happy during the day. After seeing him last night, I feel pretty certain he has an ear infection in his right ear. I will be calling the pediatrician this morning. Rob was up with him most of the night and this is how I found them this morning. I guess Rob just decided it would be easier to sleep with him... so they could both get some sleep. I feel so sorry for Griffin... I just hope it is not another ear infection... he has suffered enough, but I do really want to know what is making him so miserable at night. We all need some sleep.

It is going to be close to 80 today, so I am off to enjoy the day!
