First Day of School.

Trevor started 4th grade today. He was excited about starting school. He really likes his new teacher, mostly because she give the kids tickets that they can redeem for candy. I think there is a lot more he is going to like about her. I have heard she is wonderful and very creative. I think he was happy to see some of his friends that he has not seen all Summer. {His entire soccer team wore their team shirts for the first day. His coach should have known, this mother would not be happy... he was thrilled to get out of wearing a collared shirt.}
Nolan started 2nd grade. He is very apprehensive in new situations and the first day of school is no different. He was shy. He would barely look at his teacher and spoke to her in a whisper. I love his teacher. She is very kind and involved which will be great for Nolan. I know Nolan had a great day. He came running of the bus this afternoon smiling ear to ear. He went on and on about his friends and how nice his teacher is.
Griffin also started school today. He started at a new daycare. He did great. He had a lot of fun and even went down for his nap. It had to be a great day because he did not want to leave.
I am always so emotional on the first day of school. I have to say I did pretty good today... only shed a few tears.I know tomorrow I will be much better... it is so much easier sending your kids off when you know they are excited and are enjoying their school experiences. This is going to be a GREAT year!

Summer is Over.

They're going back to school!
Backpacks are packed.
School shopping is done.
Tomorrow, Trevor starts 4th grade, Nolan starts 2nd grade and Griffin starts a new daycare.
It is all happening way too fast... as I am writing all this, I am saying to myself this can't be. My babies are growing up. I hope all three of them have a wonderful school year filled with learing new and exciting things and making new friends!

Foxy!

Yesterday when I looked out the window, I saw this foxy neighbor running down the street.I would like to say that I was surprised, but I was not. We have been seeing this neighbor more often than I would like lately... and in broad daylight. I don't know much about fox but I do know that I don't want to see them around my yard. I am nervous about letting the dog and kids out to play. I even once called animal control about the fox. They were no help. They told me I could shoot it... um, hello, we don't own a gun and even if we did, I know I would not be capable of shooting a fox.

First Game of the Season.

Yesterday was Trevor's first soccer game of the season. And what better way to start the season then in the pouring rain. It did not seem to bother the boys at all, just the parents. Oh well, I guess it is just getting us prepared for the cold, wet, early mornings we will be sitting sideline watching our amazing little soccer players. It is so worth it... I love seeing the kids get excited about a goal, offering words of encouragement to one another and smiling from ear to ear when they win (and even when they lose).

Now Showing...

...NOLAN'S 7th Birthday Party. Nolan had a movie theme for his party. He and a few of his best friends went to see the Cat and Dog Movie. After the movie, we had movie themed food and cake to celebrate Nolan's birthday.I was a not a very good picture taker... I got no pictures of his friends and very few of the birthday boy. Oh, well. We had a great day and great birthday celebration!

A Place to Rest.

In a few weeks, Griffin is starting at a new daycare. I am so excited and I think he is, too. I have been wanting to get him into this daycare for some time now. I think it will be the perfect fit for him. At this new daycare he needs a little bed of his own. I had to get him this adorable puppy bed with his name monogrammed on the front. I think he loves it as much as I do. Hopefully this little bed will provide him with restful naps and many sweet dreams!

Sweet, Stubborn, Sensitive, SEVEN

Seven, Nolan is going to be SEVEN next Thursday.
Nolan can be one of the sweetest boys there is. He is so loving and affectionate. He is also incredibly sensitive.
Nolan is also one of the most stubborn, I mean strong willed, kids I know. He likes when things go his way and really dislikes when things don't! Sometimes this makes for one hard to handle young man. I know his strong willed personality can benefit him... hopefully as he grows and matures, he will learn how to use it to his advantage. Nolan is a great athlete and loves to play sports. His favorite is still hockey and he wants to play goalie (much to his mom's dismay). He also loves soccer, baseball, swimming and kick ball. He is very active and always needs to be moving! Nolan loves all animals. Right now is very fascinated with sea animals. He is loving sharks and has been enjoying reading anything he can about them.Nolan is a smart boy (although sometimes he does not believe it). He is great at math. He does not like to do anything unless he knows he has mastered it... which sometimes makes learning difficult. Nolan wants to be a professional hockey player or a marine biologist when he grows up. No matter what he does we are so proud of him. He has accomplished and achieved some much in his SEVEN years... I can only imagine what the future holds!

Life

"Real life" is not nearly as much fun as sitting by the lake with no cares at all. Why is it so hard to return to reality?
