A little of this and a little of that.

So this may be one of my most all over the place posts.  I have been a bad blogger.  My mind has been consumed lately and I have been working on dealing with the unexpected bumps in the road.  I thought we were settling into our routines, but not quite yet, I am going to have to make a few unexpected changes and that has had me really busy.  But enough on that.
Fall is in the air and I love it!  Well I love it today anyway... I may not love it so much on Sunday when the temp is not going to get out of the 50's and Trevor has a soccer game.  I love the leaves changing colors.  I love the brisk air and the festive Fall decorations.
Tonight Griffin thought it would be fun to play peek-a-boo with the door.  He giggled and giggled as he smooched his face up against the door.  I now have cute little finger, mouth and nose prints all over the glass.
We have a very busy weekend with lots of soccer {5 games}, hockey, a birthday party and family pictures.

Perfect to Me.

I love him.  I love him so much that my heart could just explode.
He is perfect.  He may be a little delayed in speech and he may have the energy of 10 toddlers, but {to me} he's absolutely perfect.  I am going to spend less time worrying about his delay and more time focusing on just how bright, enthusiastic, friendly and affectionate he is.  He is my son and I love him more and more each day!

Gabba Gabba Live

Tonight Griffin and I went to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live.  I was very nervous and excited.  I was not sure he would sit or pay attention through the performance.  He also has a fear of costumed characters, so I was not sure how he would respond to them.
He did great.  He loved the show!  He sat for the first half of the show with his mouth open completely mesmerised by his favorite TV characters live and in person.
He got this cute Broobe backpack and keep it on most of the show.  So cute!
After the first half, he got up and started dancing like crazy.
He loved all of the show except for when the characters came off stage, he wanted nothing to do with that.
Before the show, we went for a walk to see the big tour buses.  DJ Lance jumped out of one of the buses and said hi to Griffin.  Griffin said hi back but I don't think he knew who he was because he was not yet dressed in his orange suit.
The 2 hours spent at the show were just priceless.  I love seeing such excitement and happiness on my son's face.

This and That

This morning the sky was absolutely beautiful.  Last night was a full moon and the sunrise was amazing.  I love to wake to a bright colorful sky.
To say we have been busy is a huge understatment.  Last night Trevor was at soccer for almost 4 hours between travel practice and tryouts for the Winter league.  After a talk about commitment, he seems very intent on giving a 100%, becoming reinvested and improving on soccer.

Nolan has had lots of hockey.  He has had lots of drills and open skate time to prepare him for the upcoming evaluations.  He even looks like a hockey player with missing teeth.  He lost one of his top teeth prematurely over a year ago and it has yet to come in and yesterday he lost his other top tooth so now he has a big gap.
Rob and I have been busy just keeping up with the boys schedules.  It is kind of sad that our boys have a busy schedule then we do!

Tomorrow evening Griffin and I are going to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live.  I might be just as excited as he is going to be.  I just can't wait to see his face.  I think he is going to just love it!

And speaking of Griffin, with out giving it away, here is a sneak peek to what may be the cutest boy dressed for Halloween.
He looks precious in his costume and what is even more precious is how excited he is about it.  I showed him himself in the mirror and he was so proud.  He is in love!

My little boy has been doing some cute art projects at school. He is so proud of his projects. Today is Griffin's Godmothers birthday so we have to say happy, happy birthday TG. We love you!

A Bushel and a Peck.

Today after soccer we went apple picking! Apple picking is one of my favorite Fall activities and today was a beautiful day. My sister is in town and has never been apple picking before. We told her how easy it was. She thought the apples would be out of reach but we told her that they are all on low branches. I had heard apple picking season started rather early this year but I had no idea how few apples there would be on the low branches. The boys and my sister had to climb up the trees to get our bags full. After finally climbing 50 trees and filling two large bags of apples, my sister said, "wow, I never knew apple picking was so much work".Today was the last day to apple pick at farm so it was definitely work to fill our bags. Anyhow, we had a great time and I got some cute pictures of the boys in the trees.
After apple picking, we went to our favorite Mexican restuarant. The boys needed to cool off with a tasty beverage at the bar. And Griffin had some important matters to handle over the phone. It was a great weekend filled with birthday celebrations, soccer games, apple picking and football (go Chargers!).

M.I.A.

I have been very absent from my blog. There are a million reasons for that. We have been busy with work and school, soccer and hockey, house work and homework, colds and ear infections, and just spending time together. But the biggest reason for my absence is that my camera is not working. I had to send it in for repair. I love including pictures on my blog and the pictures are what usually inspire my posts.... therefore no pictures and no posts equal an absent blogger. I am hoping my camera will be fixed really fast, life will slow down (just a little) and I will be inspired to blog again. Until then, I hope that absence will make the heart grow fonder!

New Do.

I love Griffin's longish hair. I think it suits him perfectly. But there is a time when it gets too long... that day had come (actually it came weeks ago, but we have been too busy) to get it cut. Not too much, but just enough to see those beautiful, big, bright, brown eyes again!

The Last of Summer.

This weekend we celebrated the last long weekend of Summer. The weather was perfect, my kind of weather 70's with a lovely breeze. We had a neighborhood block party, partied on the boat, played a little Rock Band and Just Dance. The weekend was great until last night. Poor Nolan started complaining about a horrible ear ache. This morning I took him to the doctor to learn that neither of his tubes are in place and he has a double ear infection. My Nolan was in absolute agony... it was so hard to not be able to make it better. Tonight after a few doses of Motrin and antibiotics, I think he is finally feeling better. Trevor woke this morning not feeling well. He has been sluggish with a fever all day complaining of head pain. He had to miss his soccer game tonight. I am hoping he is feeling better. As much as I love Autumn, I am not looking forward to the ear infections, colds and sickness that comes with it. I was really hoping this year would be better health wise. It does not seem to be starting that way. I hope everyone is better tomorrow, because I have one little boy that is in desperate need of a haircut.

One Week Down.

We survived, just barely, our first week back at school. The new routine and busy days have left us absolutely exhausted, but a good exhausted. The boys are so happy to have a four day weekend. They have been lounging around this morning.
And although we are beat, I could not have asked for a better first week back to school. The boys are loving their class and teacher. We had open house at Trevor's school on Thursday and his teacher is great. She is so on top of things and already has him lined up for the GT program... which is great. In the past I have had to jump through hoops to get him there. Nolan has been so happy to go to school each day and comes home just as happy. He has been loving his days and he thinks his teacher is the greatest (I am pretty fond of her, too). He is usually so shy and nervous in the beginning that this happy attitude is great! Griffin loves going to school and even cried when I came to get him the other day. He did not want to leave. Such a stinker, but I am so glad that he is happy... it was hard making the decision to change his school but he has made it obvious that we made the right decision. Let's hope the rest of the year can be as smooth as this first week has!

I think the hot, hot weather has been contributing to the exhaustion. It has been hot, way too hot. I am looking forward to all things FALL. I am so over this 95 degree weather and humid days.
Speaking of exhausted, Griffin is just now waking up. I better go see him.
