Griffin Update.

  • Griffin is doing great in his new school.  I am so relieved.  I used to dread picking him up because I would always be told how rough he was or how difficult he is {which he isn't}.  He always receives wonderful reports from his new school and he is so happy there.  I only wish I had moved him sooner.
  • Griffin vocabulary is really growing.  He is talking more and more and doing really well in speech.  He is really trying to articulate what he needs which is great.
  • Griffin loves the movie Wall-e, all things that move {cars, planes, trucks}, Buzz Lightyear, building blocks and reading books.
  • Griffin's attention span is increasing some.  He seems to spend more time on things instead of running from one place to the next. Another sign that my baby is growing.
  • This is the first year that Griffin is going to understand Christmas a little and I am so excited.  There is nothing better than seeing Christmas though a child's eyes, especially the first few years.  He understands there will be presents under the tree and when asked what he wants, he responds with Buzz {which he already has}.
  • Griffin had fun putting the ornaments on the tree.  I was a little worried that he would be playing with the tree everyday, but he has not touched it.
  • He loves his brothers and wants to do everything they do.
  • He is one of the sweetest, cutest, funniest kids I know {but I may be biased}.

Thanksgiving Day

We had a rather quiet Thanksgiving, but a very nice one.
We had some ducks and falcon (I think) come to check out the bird we had it the oven.
Our turkey was delicious and so was all the food.  I was so stuffed after eating, but I guess that is what you are supposed to do on Thanksgiving.
Griffin saved enough room for the frosting off of a cupcake.
It is always so nice to spend time with family.

Griffin and Mommy are Thankful.

Griffin is thankful for Dora the Explorer, and so am I, seeing that is what is keeping him entertained right now.

Griffin is thankful for trucks and trains, balls and outside, mommy, daddy and his entire family.
Griffin and I are both very thankful for his new school.  He is so happy there. I am so thankful it has been a smooth transition and he is doing so well.

I am thankful for Griffin, his sweet voice and all the new words he is saying.  I am thankful for Trevor, his sarcastic humor and his kind heart.  I am thankful for Nolan, his goofy personality and his sensitive nature.
Griffin is thankful for some of his favorite things:  mustard, popsicles, Diego, cars, books, big cups with straws and music.

I am MOST thankful for my wonderful, supportive family!

Happy Thanksgiving.

Crazy Hair Day.

Today is crazy hair day at Trevor's school.  He is a lot like I was at his age, very unsure as to if he wants to participate or not.  He is not one to step too far out of the box.
I, on the other hand, was so excited to play with Trevor's hair and create some kind of crazy do.  I finally got to put some ponytails in my child's hair (something I thought, with 3 boys, I would never be able to do!
Griffin was wondering what the big deal is... he has crazy hair everyday!

Trevor is Thankful.

Trevor is thankful for his mom, his dad and his family.  He is thankful our home, his bedroom, milk, books to read, video games and soccer.

Nolan is Thankful!

Tonight, I asked Nolan what he is thankful for.  He has been studying Pilgrims in school so his first response was that he is thankful for the Pilgrims and Wampanoags.  Then he went on to say that he is very thankful for his family and friends, turkey, clothes, his health, the color brown and all the people in the military.

Reading.

Trevor loves to read.  I love that about him.
He gets so incredibly engrossed in a book that he can't put it down.  I can't keep enough books on hand for him.  I don't think there is a book that he has read that he has not enjoyed.  He reads all types of books.  He loves to read and I love that he loves to read!

Sigh.

Griffin went for a half day at his new daycare today.  He did great.
{Ignore the crumbs, it was snack time.}

Griffin is happy and I am {cautiously} optimistic.  I hope this will be the perfect place for Griffin to grow and learn.  Tomorrow is his first full day and I hope he comes home as happy as he did today!

Drinks and Dancing

Last night was a night of drinks and dancing for Griffin.

Griffin and his TG practiced cheers.
They would say "cheers" and bump glasses.
Sip the drink then let out a big "aaaahhhhhh".
Then they would smile and laugh.
After drinks, we "Just Danced".
Griffin was so cute and thought this was so much fun.
He would dance to a song then request "more".
And we would give in one more time.
And one more.  And one more.

Until finally, it was time to say goodnight and off to bed Griffin went.  The adults continued to dance and Rob continued to beat me at every. single. song.  How is that fair... if you watch him dance, you know it. is. not. fair.
And then dancing continues this morning...

Shutterfly

One of my favorite things about Christmas is sending and receiving Christmas cards.

So I was so excited when I saw that Shutterfly is giving away 50 free cards for blogginng about your experience with using Shutterfly.  If you are interested in blogging about Shutterfly and receiving a code for 50 free cards, get more information here.

I love Shutterfly and have used them for my holiday cards for several years now.  I can't find my card from last year but this is a picture of our Christmas card from the year before (the quality of my picture is not great, it is a photo of the card).
Shutterfly is so user friendly.  It is so easy to use.  The hardest part is deciding which card to choose.  There are so many different styles.  To see all the choices, go here. I have about 5 different designs saved in "my projects".  I love this one.  This one is so classy.  This one is so fun.  Now, I just have to decide on one!

I also love Shutterfly's photo books!  I have a collection that I have made for myself, but I also make a few every year for gifts.  They make great gifts for grandparents!
Obviously, I love Shutterfly.  The prices are great.  The choices are endless.  The quality is exceptional.  Thank you, Shutterfly for making holiday card shopping painless (now if I could just get a decent picture of my boys together).  Happy holiday shopping!

Change.

I have been absent from my blog.  I have not felt much like blogging.  I have been preoccupied with some changes I have to make.

Change sometimes is so difficult.  It can be difficult even when we know it is the right thing to do.  I am one that finds comfort in routine and the known.  I have a hard time with change.

"The key to change...is to let go of fear."

I have been trying to embrace change and not be fearful.  I have known for awhile that I must change Griffin's daycare.  I have put it off for as long as I can and now I must face my fear and make the change.  I have spent days weighing the options and questioning my choice.

Today the decision is made.  I am excited about his new daycare, but also nervous.  Monday Griffin will start at his new school.  I am putting my fear aside and embracing the change.  It is the right decision and I know he will be happy.

So anyways, thanks for listening to my rambling.  I hope to have the weight lifted from me and return to blogging soon.

Nolan's First Hockey Game

Today was Nolan's first hockey game.
The first game was not so great,
But the second game Nolan came alive!
He played great and had a blast.

My Halloween Treats.

My two World Cup Soccer players.  This is the first year that Trevor was on the fence about dressing up.  He finally decided he wanted to be a soccer player.  He also found his dads mullet and added that to his costume.  Nolan wanted to follow along with his brother and be a soccer player, too.
Griffin loves Buzz, so it was only fitting that he was Buzz for Halloween.  And might I add the cutest little Buzz ever.  He was flying around everywhere at full speed.
And my three treats together.  This was as good as it gets because Buzz was off to infinity and beyond and had no time to stay still for a picture.
Hope you all had a very Happy Halloween!
