Weekend Randomness

  • Yay for the weekend, but why does it have to pass so quickly?
  • Trevor is becoming a teen... he is starting to get embarrassed when I ask to take his picture.
  • Griffin, on the other hand, loves to have his picture taken but it it usually includes a silly pose, food hanging out of his mouth, a funny face or looking away from the camera.
  • Nolan got to spend some special time with Gia and TG yesterday.  They went to lunch and discussed entrepreneur ideas.
  • Trevor played in his first lacrosse game this weekend.  He did great.  I don't know much about lacrosse and but it was lots of fun to watch.
  • I also have to get used to how physical it is.  They use those sticks for a lot more than just catching and throwing the ball.
  • They did not win but they sure were proud of themselves, as they should be.
  • Trevor and Nolan love watching the Shark Tank on TV.  I think it is interesting that they are interested by people trying to get their invention marketed.  I have enjoyed watching it with them.
  • The sun has been shinning, but it has been chilly and windy.
  • Rob showed his mad pancake making skills by making a Bruins B.  Nolan made Tim Thomas but his was so big that we could not flip him in one piece.
  • I think I planted my flowers too early or I just have the kiss of death when it comes to window boxes?!?
  • Griffin enjoyed lounging in the sun while Trevor played his lacrosse game.
  • Today, we have Trevor's soccer game and family dinner.  Yay, I always look forward to Sunday family dinner. I think it is steak tonight which will make Nolan a very happy boy.

A Lesson not to Miss

Trevor begged asked for me to cancel his annual physical appointment tomorrow.
Not because he does not want to go to the doctors, but because he does not want to miss school.
Tomorrow they are having a lesson on the major battles in the Civil War and he does not want to miss this lesson.
He has always loved school and learning but I never thought he would be so upset about missing an hour of school.
How could I say no to such a request?  I couldn't, so I have rescheduled his doctor's appointment for May.
I just love this kid.  He. is. one. very. special. boy!!!

Rainy Monday Randomness

  • Well, it finally feels like Spring.  It is rainy and chilly.  We have been having such warm weather, I guess we were do for some Spring like days.
  • Last weekend we celebrated my mom's birthday at this amazing location.  It was a great little girls getaway.  My mom is truly one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out.  It was a fun, relaxing birthday celebration.
  • I have made an appointment to see an allergist, again (he saw one about 5 years ago).  Something has to be done about those allergy shiners he gets under his eyes.  Hopefully, we will be about to figure something out this time!
  • Friday I had a special day with Nolan.  Part of the day was getting a haircut.  He was not thrilled about the haircut but it was much needed.
  • We have been busy, busy, busy with lacrosse practices.  Between Trevor and Nolan, some weeks we have practice 5 days a week.
  • Today was a Griffin and Mommy day, as he calls Mondays.  He wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese so we did but first I took him to get a haircut.  He is becoming quite the big boy.
  • Tomorrow night I have a middle school information night.  Having a hard time wrapping my mind around this... how is it possible that I can be sending my son to middle school next year.
  • We got a lot accomplished this weekend.  It is amazing what you can get done when you have  free, unscheduled weekend.
  • Hope you all had a great weekend!

It Feels Like Summer

So we went to the beach yesterday.
Well, it did not feel quite so summery at the beach.
According to Trevor and Griffin (Nolan was at camp)
the water was cold.
And it was super windy.
After a few hours, we left the beach,
but it was fun while it lasted!
We look forward to more beach days.

Sunday Afternoon

Yesterday was a beautiful afternoon.  Friends and family gathered for games, eats and drinks.  Since I am exhausted, pictures will have to tell the story.

Don't ask!?!

Fun outside was followed by a much needed bubble bath.

A good day was had by all.

My Boys

I am the mom to three incredible boys.  I love my boys and these three boys lighten my life every single day.  I have three boys and I would not have it any other way!
But if I am being totally honest, I always wanted to have a daughter.  I always thought I would be a girl mom {boy was I wrong}.  And if I am being honest, there are times that I wish I could buy a cute little dress and big hair bows for my daughter.  I always imagined taking my daughter to the American Girl store.  I pictured helping my daughter plan her wedding and being there when she delivered her first baby.
When I found out I was having a son, what I was most sad about was the relationship I would have with him.  I thought there was no way a son and a mom could have a relationship like I have with my mom.  I think my boys are proving me wrong and I am so glad.
My boys have opened my eyes to so many things.  I was never a huge hockey or soccer fan, but now I love it.  Not only do enjoy watching my boys play, I like to watch it on TV, too.  I have learned that my home will never be quiet.  I love the conversations I have with my boys and seeing perspectives through their eyes.  I love who they are and love watching who they are becoming.
Although having three boys was not my master plan, I am so glad it is my reality.  Some of the dreams I have had may never be fulfilled, but so many things that I could not have even dreamed have come true.  I am truly blessed with these three amazing, funny, wild, boys!

Easter is coming

I can't believe Easter is this weekend.
We colored eggs.  I thought this Paas kit was perfect for me... I love anything monogrammed!
Waiting patiently for the egg to turn yellow.

Trevor and Griffin colored a few eggs
and then Nolan and I colored the 20 or so remaining eggs.  They will all be deviled eggs by Sunday, yummy!

Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Trevor's 11th birthday this weekend with family.
The week long celebration ended with an evening showing of The Hunger Games.  Trevor has read all three books and was really looking forward to seeing the movie, so last night family and one of his friends went to see the movie.  It was amazing.  The movie was almost as good as the book.
I think Trevor had a great birthday and hopefully will have an even better 11th year.
