Life Lately...

  • I had a very nice Mother's Day.  It started with a wonderful breakfast in bed made by Nolan and Rob.  I loved my sweet message pancakes.
  • Last week on "Griffin and Mommy day" we went to the movies.  Griffin really wanted to go to the "movies in the movie theatre".  With limited choices, we went to see the Pirate movie.  It was only playing in 3D, so we paid a ridiculous amount to see a kids, matinee movie.  Griffin was way into the glasses for all of 5 minutes.  Oh, well.  He enjoyed the movie anyhow.  And every "Griffin and Mommy day" is a good day!
  • Nolan had a great couple of lacrosse games on Saturday.  He got to play middie and do a face-off.  He has been looking forward to this since starting to play.  He did a great job and had a great time.
  • While I was at Nolan's game, Rob was at Trevor's game.  He did not see much of the game since he had locked his keys in the car, so $85 later while Trevor played lacrosse, Rob waited for the tow truck.
  • I use adobe photoshop to edit my pictures, but lately whenever I try to save an edited picture, I get an error message.  Not sure what this is all about, but I would really like to be able to edit and save my pictures.  Any advice???
  • Today Nolan had 2+ hours of allergy and asthma testing done.  The results are not exactly what I was looking for.  He did not test positive to any allergens (although he has "allergy shiners and all the symptoms of one suffering from allergies), but his doctor believes he does indeed have allergies.  He also had all types of breathing tests done.  One of the tests was done before and after the use of an albuterol inhaler.  An increase of 12% is considered significant.  On the long breath portion of the test, he improved by 14% and on the short breath portion, he improved by 37%.  This test is a strong indication that Nolan has asthma.  We are starting him on Singular.  Let's hope this improves his symptoms!
  • We have another busy week of lacrosse and soccer, but we are looking forward to a beautiful holiday weekend free of games!

I'm In So Much TROUBLE!

Wow, Nolan is not even 9 and he talking about GIRLS!
He told me tonight that he is going to wait until the girls come to him (and some ALREADY have).
He wants a blond.  A BLEACHED blond.
He has told me he is going to have LOTS of girlfriends.
Oh, heaven help me.  I am going to be in BIG trouble when this boy becomes a teen (and possibly before).

Mother's Day

I would like to thank my three favorite boys.  I am so incredibly thankful to be their mom!

Happy Mother's day to my mom.   My mom is the most forgiving, encouraging and selfless person I know.  Mom, I love you and am so blessed to be your daughter.   Mom thank you for being my very best friend.  Thank you for all that you do for me and the boys.

Happy Mother's day to my mother-in-law.  My boys love you and enjoy spending time with you (and so do I).

Debbie, although you are not my mom, thank you so much for loving me like a daughter and for loving my family like your own.  I love sharing special days and everydays with you.

Happy Mother's Day!

Nolan's Lacrosse Game

Today I went to Nolan's lacrosse game.  It is the first game I have seen him play, but his second game.
He really amazes me with his courage and his athletic ability.  He is one "give it all you got", aggressive boy!
On the way to lacrosse he made me laugh until I was almost in tears.  He told me that his coach told them that they are not allowed to body check.  Nolan told me that he does not know how to keep is body in check!  So funny yet so true.
Then during his game I watched him walk up to a kid on the opposing team, a kid about twice his size.  He went up to him, said something and then walked away.  After the game I asked him what that was all about and he told me the kid was trash talking the entire game, saying things like "Losers", "You are a stinky team", etc.  After Nolan's team scored like 4 consecutive goals, Nolan walked up to him, looked up into his face (remember he was about twice Nolan's size) and said, "What were you saying?"  and then he walked away.  That was the perfect response.  Nolan is not scared of anyone!
It was a beautiful day and a great day to watch one of my favorite athletes play lacrosse.

The Weekend

We had a wonderful full weekend.
Trevor had a soccer game and travel soccer tryouts.  I always get so nervous about tryouts.  I don't want him to be disappointed if he does not make the team, but I guess that is part of life.
Nolan played in a few lacrosse games this weekend.  He is not sure how much he is going to like lacrosse.  I think he will come around and really like it.  It is a physical, fast moving game, right up Nolan's alley.
We celebrated Cinco De Mayo at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.  Trevor even went to a Cinco De Mayo celebration and rode a mechanical bull.  He thought it was a blast and was very proud that he managed to stay on the bull for 33 seconds.
Griffin got a new pair of shades, but he has already misplaced them.  Hopefully they will turn up really soon.  He was not happy this morning when he could not find them.
The super moon was amazing this weekend.  Nolan dragged me outside because he wanted me to take pictures.  I am glad I did.  It was so beautiful.
We wrapped up the weekend with having some family and friends over.  Sunday was a beautiful day.  The sun was finally shinning after a week of rainy grey days.

This Boy

This boy is such a sweet love.

This boy loves his mom and Griffin days.  This boy loves Curious George, Mario and gummies.   This boy loves his family and friends.  This boy likes to sleep in.  This boy is growing like crazy, becoming such a big boy and saying so many different phrases.  This boy loves to play with balls, Wii and outside.  This boy is happy almost all the time.  This boy has a smile that can light up a room and a laugh that is so adorable.  This boy is so loved.

This boy has stolen my heart!
