These are the strangest, but cutest super hero's I have ever laid eyes on.
I am so glad I have these super hero's to protect my home!

Just Like Brother

Griffin wanted to have his hair cut just like his brother, Nolans'.  Since I am not a fan of Nolan's mohawk, there was no way I could let my Griffin get a mohawk, too.
Instead I let him get a faux hawk.  This was a big step for me since I really like his hair long and a faux hawk would require short hair.  With it being summer time, I thought it was time to go with a shorter cut.
And I think he looks absolutely adorable.  I still like longer hair on him but I think he looks pretty darn cute with his short faux hawk.  He looks so grown up with the short hair.
And who am I kidding, he would look cute with long, short, curly, blue or no hair!  He is just that cute!

It's Just Hair

It's just hair and it will grow back.
That is what I keep telling myself.  Love the faux hawk, but not a fan of the mohawk.  Nolan is happy with it and (I guess) that is what matters.

Schools Out

Schools is out!
And can you tell how excited they are about it?
T and N are so not into having their pictures taken at all.
First Day
Last Day
Trevor on the first and last day of 5th grade.
First Day
Last Day
Nolan on the first and last day of 3rd grade.

Well, today has not been the best day with T and N.  Just keeping it real, but T and N have not been very good to each other today.  I hope the sun starts to shine and T and N start to appreciate one another or it may be a really long summer.

The Graduate

Trevor graduated from elementary school.  (Wow, that is hard to type and even harder to believe.)
I am so proud of him.  His elementary years were a breeze.  He has done very well in school and has been involved in so many different activities.
Yesterday at the graduation celebration, he was acknowledged for being part of the graduation committee, being a student ambassador, for Odyssey of the Mind and for GE Techie.
At the end of the celebration, the students broke out in this cute dance.  At one part in the dance they help up a sign that said "The Trevor" and they all danced like Trevor.  He dances with his fists close together in front of him.
It was perfect celebration for the end of an amazing elementary school experience.
Now he is off to bigger and better things.  His principals advice was to "stand out".  We are so incredibly proud of him and look forward to watching him continue to grow and stand out.
Trevor, We love you so much and are so privileged to be a part of your life.

The Bulldozer

Bulldozer: a large, powerful tractor having a vertical blade at the front end for moving earth, tree, stumps, rocks, etc.

Nolan has been given the nickname "The Bulldozer" by his soccer coach.
Nolan is the large powerful tractor and he uses this power to get the soccer ball from his opponents (regardless of their size).

I Love You

Griffin: Mommy, I love you all day long.

Me: Oh, Griffin, I love you all day long, too.

Griffin: I love you all night long, too.

Griffin will never know, until he has a child of his own, just how deeply I love him. His sweet voice, kind words and precious face just break my heart in two.

I love the town we live in.  Growing up in San Diego, I never experienced the community feel one would get from living in a smaller town.  I have it now where I live and it is one of my favorite things about this town.
I love that as my kids get older and hang out in the village that there will be people I know that will see them and keep an eye out for them.  I love when I go to the grocery store and see many people I know.  I am sure part of why I love it so much is because it is a novelty to me since I did not have any of this growing up.  In San Diego, it was rare that I would run into someone I knew.  The city was just so big.
This Saturday my town had a big fundraiser for our local pizza shop owner.  The building his restaurant is in burned in April and GHOP has been closed since.  Shorty after, the owner found out he has cancer.  It is all very sad and we look forward to GHOP reopening.  At the fundraiser, they interviewed us for the news.  You can see the video here.
It is amazing, to me, to see the community come together and rally around this local business owner.  I love that my kids are growing up with a sense of community.  I feel so blessed to live in such a wonderful community.

The boys and a first dance

Trevor went to his first (step-up) middle school dance.  The last dance of the year, the incoming sixth graders are invited to attend.  Trevor could not decide if he wanted to attend or not.  A few days before the dance, after polling his friends, he decided to go.  It is hard to get any information out of him but what he did tell me was that he had fun, ate pizza (2 pieces and they were not that good), had a drink (it was warm, not so good) and he danced about half of the time (not with girls but in a group with friends).  It is hard to believe he was at his first dance.  This kid is growing up before my eyes!!!
Griffin has become one talkative little boy.  It is amazing to think I was once worried he would never talk.  To him everything is "awesome".  I asked him why he was growing so much, his response because I am "big and strong".  Seriously this kid could not be any cuter, I know I am his mom, but really he is so precious to me!
Nolan is ready for the summer.  He is doing well on his allergy/asthma medicine, he says it helps and he is looking much better.  Nolan is 8 going on 16.  Seriously this kid is going to give us a run for our money.  He wanted to go to the dance in Trevor's place, because he likes older woman.  Really, where does he get these ideas?!?

I can't believe another school year is coming to an end.  It is amazing how quickly the time passes.  My boys are so much fun and growing like weeds.  Next year I will have a preschooler, a 4th grader and a 6th grader (in middle school)... Unbelievable!

We are all just busy as ever, looking forward to the summer months when life will (hopefully) slow down a bit.
