This is Halloween

My three treats on Halloween.

Griffin decided he wanted to be Spiderman this year.  He dressed up as Spiderman {along with 4 other boys in his class} for his school Halloween parade.  Mom of the year forgot her camera so I got no pictures of him at his parade.  Trust me it was cute and if I do say so myself, he was the cutest Spiderman I have ever seen.
By the time we got home from school, Griffin had decided he was going to wear the same costume he wore last year.
 And here he is this year as the same blue, furry, one-eyed monster.
Nolan was a crazy soccer head.  He had a great time going door-to-door with 3 of his good friends.
Trevor had decided weeks ago that he was not going to dress up or go trick-or-treating.  He had decided he was going to go door-to-door to collect cans for the local food bank.  Well, last night seeing all his friends dressed up, he decided to throw a last minute costume together, meet Tie Man.  He did go trick-or-treating with his friends, but instead of a huge bag of candy he came home with over 20 cans of canned food for the food pantry.  He also came home with some candy.  This week I will be taking him to the food pantry to deliver his treats.  I am so proud of him, so very proud of him.
Hope you had a Happy Halloween.
And Happy Birthday to my sister, Ash!

Thing 8

Nolan's soccer team dressed up as "things" for the Halloween tournament.  They were so cute, although very difficult to tell who was who. {Nolan is the one on the far right.}
They played great and won the costume costume.  They all had so much fun together with their blue wigs.  It was a great way to end the soccer season.  Now on to hockey and the soccer winter league.

Surgery Day

Tomorrow is surgery day for Griffin.  He is having oral surgery on a tooth he injured as a toddler.
His top front tooth {a tooth that is retreating back to the gums} is going to be removed.  I will miss that short little tooth, but will look forward to seeing his smile, sans one tooth.
I know it is not major surgery and I know he will be fine.  Knowing all this does not help my mommy heart.  This will be his 5th time going under general anesthesia and each time is just as difficult. We told Griffin about what is going to happen tomorrow, but he can't possibly understand it all.  I hope he is not too scared and he does not remember any of it!
Please pray that I have peace and can be strong for my sweet boy.  Most importantly, please pray that Griffin has a complication free surgery and a quick recovery.

Monday's Ramblings

  • I am so excited that I have ordered all of my Christmas cards.  All I need to do is address them.  I am so glad I can check this off my list.  Now on to Christmas shopping.
  • Nolan got a hat trick in his soccer game on Sunday.  It was a rainy, wet day and the team had fun rolling in the mud.
  • I turned my absentee ballot in today for the November election.  Now selfishly, since I have voted, I want all the annoying political ads to stop!
  • Griffin's little legs looked so cute to today in his jeans and sneakers.
  • Today was pretty rough day for Griffin. He started at the dentist for his regular check up and ended up at the oral surgeon.  He has a tooth that never fully came in and is now moving back up.  It has a fancy name, but regardless, his tooth must come out.  Next Friday, under general anesthesia, Griffin will have his tooth pulled.  It just breaks my heart.  He had to have a panorama dental scan today and he was just terrified.  He tried to be as brave as he could but he was trembling as the procedure was going on.  I can't even think about it without welling up with tears.  It was so difficult to see my sweet boy trying to be strong and brave when he was scared beyond belief.  I will be so happy when this is all behind us!
  • Trevor's soccer team went 5-0-1 this season and will be competing in the state playoffs.  Games start this weekend and we are so excited.
  • I think that is all for today.  I am feeling pretty spent!

The Things He Says

The things Griffin says just crack me up.  The other day he started his sentence to me with "Just trust me, mom".  So cute, where did he learn that?
One day I was reading to him and he said, "Mommy, please pause the book."  Pause the book, what does he think I am?  Some kind of electrical device?
A few nights ago, Rob told Griffin that it was almost time for bed.  His response was, "I am too busy to go to bed."
About 99% of the time he will start a conversation with "excuse me".  It is cute and polite but it is driving me crazy.  Everything is excuse me.
Oh, Griffin, you keep us laughing daily.  We just love you to pieces!

Halloween Mantel

My favorite Halloween decoration this year is my mantel.  I love how it out!
You can see my mantels decorated for different occasions here and here.

Columbus Weekend Soccer Tournaments

This weekend Trevor had a tournament in one town and Nolan had a tournament in another town.  Rob spent the weekend coaching Trevor's team at his tournament.  Nolan and I spent the weekend at his tournament.
Nolan's team won three of their four games.  The kids were so cute together, coloring each others hair and hanging out while not playing.  The boys were pretty tired by their final game.
Since the camera was with me at Nolan's game, there are no pictures of Trevor's tournament other than this one...
Trevor and his team were the champions of the tournament.  The team was super excited!
It was another great soccer weekend.  We are so proud of both Trevor and Nolan.
And while we were hanging out at the soccer fields, Griffin got to spend the weekend being spoiled by his Gia and TG.

Practice, Practice, Practice

A rare moment when Trevor and Nolan were actually getting along.
They practiced their soccer shots on one another.

I wish they could get along a little more often!

Bike Riding

Griffin had fun riding
and posing on his bike tonight.
He was so cute until he came in the house and chucked his brother's watch across the room.
Now he is in his room.
{Don't mind his dirty face!}

Weekend Review {without pictures}

We had a rainy, rainy weekend.  If you ever have to be sick with a fever and chills, this past rainy weekend was the perfect weekend for it.  Lucky me, I spent much of the weekend curled up under blankets feeling sick.  This is the reason this post is without pictures.  Rob is not likely to get the camera out and document our every days.

Trevor and Nolan both had some soccer games.  Nolan scored two goals on Saturday and he was very proud of himself.  Trevor only had one game, his other two were cancelled because of the rain.  They are both playing in tournaments this weekend.

Griffin has been belting out songs lately.  His repertoire ranges from A,B,C's to Call Me Maybe.  No matter the song, he is pretty darn cute.

Speaking of Griffin, today I took him shoe shopping, without much success.  Why do they not make any cute shoes for little boys?  I want something easy and comfortable.  I don't want light up, obnoxious sneakers!  The search will continue... hopefully he will have some decent shoes soon.

Nolan has hockey evaluations tonight.  I just can't believe that it is already hockey season.  Time really does fly.

Best news of the weekend, both the Chargers and the Pats won.  A good football day for the whole family.
