A day at the slopes

Trevor and Nolan went skiing and riding today.
The weather was not the greatest... warm but windy and on and off rain.  There were peaks of sun and flurries of snow.  Almost every type of weather was experienced on the mountain today.
The weather did not slow the boys down.  They had a blast and can't wait to go back.
Trevor spent the day in a private {thanks to a quiet day on the mountain} snowboarding lesson.  He had the same instructor as last year and really liked her.  He did a great job and has improved a lot since last year.  It is only a matter of time before he is doing tricks :).
Nolan was in a lesson with one other boy.  His coach was great.  He thought Nolan skied like a hockey player and enjoyed watching him.  He was having him do hockey stops.  I was told that Nolan is an aggressive skier {big surprise, NOT}.  His coach tried to teach him to slow down.  Nolan spent a good portion of the day skiing backwards.  He thought that was great fun.
It was another great day at the slopes.  I can't wait to take them again soon {and maybe I will ski, too}.

An interview with a {soon-to-be} five year old

I asked Griffin the same questions, I asked him last year.  His 4 year old responses can be read here.  Griffin was way into the interview this year and wanted me to ask him more questions.  These were his answers to my questions:
1. What is your name: Griffin Kyle Gava
2. How old are you:  Five, um, no...four.
3. What is your favorite color:  Red and green
4. Who is your best friend:  You, mommy, because you play Mario with me.
5. What is your favorite animal:  I don't like any animals.
6. What do you want to be when you grow up:  A big brother and a daddy.
7. What is your favorite movie: Octonauts, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
8. What is your favorite book:  "Good Night, Good Night Construction Site" and all construction books.
9. What makes you laugh:  Yo-yo's, tickling me and when daddy lifts me in the air.
10. What is your favorite food:  Pizza, quesadilla, chicken and rice.
11. What is your favorite song:  Um, um... A, B, C, D and one more.... Itsy Bitsy Spider.
12. What is your favorite game:  Club Penguin and Batman.
I, of course, love his answer to number 4.  I hope when he is 20 he is still saying I am one of his best friends {I know, not likely}.  When he said he wants to be a daddy when he grows up just melts my heart.  Seriously, he has a great role model for that role and I just love that he wants to be like his daddy.  And his answer to number 5... um, yes he does like animals.  I have no idea where that answer came from?!?  Silly boy.

Weekend Randoms

  • This week may have been one of the busiest ever at work.  It was CRAZY.  I came home exhausted on the 3 days I work.
  • Griffin's teacher, at a meeting, told us how smart he is.  I just love hearing how well he is doing in school.
  • I got a tetanus shot on Thursday.  The shot did not hurt but YOWSERS my arm kills now.  I thought it would feel better today, but no.
  • We have signed Trevor up for his first ever sleep over camp.  This summer he will be going to a math and science camp that is over FIVE hours away.  I know he is ready but I sure am going to miss him.  Now if I could only find an sleep over camp for Nolan... just kidding... kind of?!?  Nolan says he does not want to go to any camps this summer, but I think he will be going to a few.
  • We have started planning a trip to Disney.  I have the unofficial guide and I have started reading it cover to cover.  Is it just me or is planning a trip {almost} as much fun as the trip itself?
  • Last night was a great soccer night for the boys.  Trevor played well and scored a goal.  Nolan was bulldozing everyone and got two assists.
  • Tonight Trevor is headed to a friends for a sleep over and the rest of us our headed to the USM hockey game.  Go Huskies!
  • Tomorrow Nolan has two hockey games and then we will spend the afternoon cheering for the Patriots.  Have a great weekend!

A {much needed} haircut

My mother and I took Griffin to get a haircut today. It was much needed.
Griffin is not a fan of getting his haircut and was a wiggle worm the entire time. He wanted his hair like a mohawk. As soon as the stylist put the gel in and spiked it up, his face lit up. He was so excited! He was smiling and laughing and he could not stop staring at himself in the mirror.
He got quite a bit of attention the rest of the day. Everyone was telling us how adorable he is. He was such a character today.   I can't believe how grown up he is!!!
