To My Son on his Birthday,

Today you are TWELVE.  Twelve years old. As I sit here and try to find the right words to tell you how proud I am of you and express how much I love you, I realize there are not enough words.
I am not proud of you because you are an honor role student, a caring friend or a respectful son. Not because of your accomplishments or smarts.  I am proud of you because you are YOU. I know there are amazing things in store for you.  Always reach farther then you think is possible and never stop questioning.
I love you more than you could possibly imagine.  I love the when you curl up with me and snuggle.  It does not happen nearly as often as I would like but I cherish every moment you spend in my arms.  I hope you always continue to take time out of your busy days to snuggle with me.
Trevor, I look forward for all this year has in store for you, because I know it will be good.  I wish you a very happy, happy birthday.

I love you,

Trevor's {almost} Teen Room Makeover

Not only is Trevor growing up,
so is his room.
His room went from this cute kids room
to this teen room.
I am happy with the way it turned out and I think Trevor is too.
His Yogibo chair might just be his absolute favorite part of his bedroom makeover.
I can't believe this boy is going to be TWELVE on Thursday.

Griffin and Mommy Day

Every Monday is "Griffin and Mommy Day".
Today on our special day,
we put on our shades
and went to meet "The Croods" at the theater.
I sure am going to miss "Griffin and Mommy Day" when Griffin starts kindergarten in the fall.

Midweek Randoms {Instagram}

Today is the first day of spring, only it looks nothing like spring around these parts.
On St. Patty's Day, a leprechaun colored Griffin's bath water green. He thought it was the greatest think ever and now wants every bath colored.
I am in love with my new lamp... so pretty.  Now I just need to decorate the rest of the table.
The boy's all cuddled together on the snow day.
Griffin "welaxing".
CC is such a party animal.

End of the Hockey Season

This weekend, Nolan laced his skates and taped his stick to play in the final tournament of the season with his incredible Thrashers team.
He had an amazing season.  Walking into the locker room on the first day of the season, Nolan did not recognize a single face.  He has ended the season with many new friends.
The team played so well together.  They won all but three games {I think}.
Nolan has improved his skating and stick handling.  He has increased his love/obsession of hockey {as if that was even possible}.  He wishes he could play hockey year round.
Next weekend, Nolan plays in one final tournament with a different group of kids and then we will focus on soccer until Nolan can get back on the ice.
October can't come soon enough for my hockey loving boy!

Two quarters into middle school
Two quarters achieving high honors.
I am not surprised, but so proud. So proud of you, Trevor!

Random bullets

  • Hockey is will be wrapping up soon.  Nolan has a tournament this weekend and one next weekend.  I am going to have one disappointed boy when it is all over.  He has become quite the hockey fanatic!
  • We had a birthday party for a friend last weekend and this clown enjoyed stealing the spotlight.  He loves to tell jokes, jokes that don't make sense.  And once he gets started, there is no stopping him.
  • It is amazing that I worried about Griffin's language when he was little.  I had nothing to worry about... this boy does not stop talking.
  • In 2 weeks, I will have a 12 year old.  The years are flying by.  March is a crazy month with Easter, hockey and Odyssey that we will be celebrating Trevor's birthday in April.
  • I made my boys a sweet treat for breakfast this morning.  They loved it and ate them all up.
  • The snow is finally melting thanks to some rain but I hear more may be coming soon.  Think Spring!
  • I have been spending a lot of time on Instagram.  I am loving it.  I have lots of pre-teen followers (Trevor's friends).  It is fun to see what everyone is up to.  @bgava
  • Since Nolan's team has come so close to winning 2 hockey tournaments (2nd and 3rd place) this season, they are hoping this weekend they will win it all.  I know they can do it!
  • We have been missing soccer with the end of the season hockey craziness.  I am missing it.  Nolan is not so sure since he is currently hockey obsessed.  I even heard him say he may not play soccer in the fall.  Once I told him it was impossible to play hockey year round, he decided to reconsider soccer.
  • I hope you all have a good weekend.

Teacher's Birthday Gift

Trevor really wanted to get one of his favorite teachers a birthday gift.
We had no idea what to get him, so I searched the good ole internet which led me to this...
It was a big hit.  Trevor loved it and Mr. Morton thought it was great.

The Week Everything Broke

It has been awhile.  I have been computer-less for the past week.  Two of my darling boys had a little snafu with my computer.  My laptops screen was broken and I was one sad mama.  But my talented husband ordered and installed a new screen and alas my computer is back up and running.
Not only did my computer take a hit this week but for some reason my camera started acting up, too.  After a trip to the camera store, all is well with the camera now.
Life has been crazy, but good.  Nolan is on a role in hockey and has become a scoring machine.  Trevor {and I} are deep in Odyssey of the Mind, lots of work still to do and not much time.  Rob {and I} have been working on transforming my almost 12 year olds' {sigh} room from a kids room to a teens room.  Add to that school dances, soccer, friends birthdays, doctors appointments {Griffin was limping again} and work, we have been busy.
