Another Birthday

Today is our crazy dog, CC's
7th birthday.
You may be hyper, super sensitive to sounds and wild but we still love you. And your three boys, they just adore you.

Hockey Sunday

Nolan was excited for his chance to be goalie.
He does not want to be goalie, but wanted to play just one game in net. He did not like it as much as he thought he would. {I think he had images of being the hero, stopping all the shots, which is just not realistic}.
He did a great job and would make a great goalie, but he is much more valuable out of net. He is an amazing defensive player and that is where he is the most value to his team.
He played in net and now is done with that. He told me last night he is over it and does not want to do it again. That was music to my ears for two reasons: I like watching him out on the ice much better and having your kid in net makes mom nervous!
He played a great game at his middle school game. He played offense which was a lot of fun for him.
He had many shots on net, unfortunately against a great goalie who stopped them all.
He did have many assists and the team won.
Next weekend we are playing in the round robin to determine who goes to the State Finals.

Griffin's Family Birthday Party

We celebrated this sweet boy's sixth birthday with family yesterday.
It was a nice, low key celebration for the happiest, silliest, cutest {soon to be} six year old ever!
We had a delicious lunch, cake and presents.
I have remained pretty silent on my baby turning six. I am not sure what there is to say that I have not yet said. Griffin has brought so much joy to our lives. He really is such a bright, happy boy. He is incredibly loving and I can't get over his beautiful brown eyes and long lashes, not to mention his sweet chubby cheeks. He is growing way to fast. Some days I just want to hold, love and smell him as that precious infant, but most of the time I am so happy where we are. I adore his personality and love seeing him become his own little person. This is all easier to accept, of course, because he tells me he will cuddle with me for always and ever. I just hope that is so.
Happy Birthday to one incredible little boy.
Griffin, you are so loved!

Kindergarten Basketball and Half-Time Show

Griffin has started his basketball career on the Red Bulls.
I'm sure his career is short lived {basketball does not seem to be his sport}. He kind of looks like a wet noodle out there dribbling the ball and his shot is not so accurate.
He is strong on defense though. He keeps his hands up and is quick to rebound the ball.
Most importantly, he is having fun. And he looks good with his fancy basketball kicks {thanks Kelsey}.
Last night the kindergarten basketball players had the privilege of performing the high school basketball teams half-time show.
The kids thought that was big time and had a blast performing for the audience.
And we, the audience, thought they were pretty cute, too.

Griffin's 6th Birthday Party {Friends Edition}

This year was the first year for Griffin to have a "friends" party. He decided he wanted to celebrate turning SIX with friends at Jokers.
And he was so excited about it! It was so much fun to watch him run around with all his friends. He was just so incredibly happy all day long and had so much fun.
He had a Batman party.
The only time the kids were around was for pizza and cake.
Otherwise, they were running around in tubes and playing games. We hardly saw all the kids and I did not get a good picture of them all together.
It was a fun day and a great kick off to celebrating Griffin's 6th birthday which is not until January 29th.

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a long stretch of avoiding the winter sicknesses.  I knew it was a matter of time before it caught up with us. Nolan has a sinus infection, junk-y lungs and two ears filled with fluid and retracted. A few doses of antibiotics and he is on the mend.
Then Trevor got sick and has had a horrible cough and fever all weekend long.  On the way to the doctors, he was dying of heat so he was using his water to cool off. Poor boy. Trevor's is just viral and hopefully he will be better by tomorrow. Trevor has a big day tomorrow and I would hate for him to miss it.  He is starting the Ski/snowboarding club.  That deserves it's own post so more on that later.
Griffin and I built a really cool {if I do say so myself} marble maze. I may be having more fun with it than he is. I find them so fun!
We cheered and cheered for the Chargers. Unfortunately, the outcome was not as we had hoped. So for the rest of the season we will not be a divided family. We are all cheering for the Pats now.

We had three hockey games, soccer, time with friends and family and some shopping, too. It was a good weekend other than sick bugs that found my boys.

Oh, Griffin.  He is such a character.
Yesterday he was mad at me, because I asked him to come to the table and eat dinner. {Horrible mom, I know, right!}

He crossed his arms and told me that he was never going to hug or kiss me again. Sweet boy knows what his mom loves most.
Within minutes, he regreted what he said and told me he was joking. By bedtime he was hugging and kissing me like crazy. I love this sweet boy so much. I know one day he will not want to be hugging and kissing me all the time but for now I will cherish every moment that he does.

Weekend in Numbers

During the 2 weekend days,
Nolan played in 5 hockey games.
4 Huskies games and
1 Middle School game.
His huskies team won all 4 games.
The middle school team lost their 1 game.
Nolan got 5 goals {wooohooo}

and 2 penalties {1 for roughing, 1 for tripping}.
I got 1 awesome picture of Nolan show-boating.
I took 425 pictures and drove many miles.
I had 0 minutes to myself,
but loved every minute of watching Nolan play in 5 hockey games. And now I have 1 exhausted boy!

Ringing in the New Year

We rang in the New Year
up at camp.
It is a beautiful winter wonderland on Long Pond.
It was way too cold to spend much time outside but we did go out to stand on the lake and take a few pictures.
It was a quiet evening spent with the one's we love. The perfect beginning to what is sure to be a wonderful year.
