A Perfect Ending to a Wonderful Hockey Season

I could not have planned a more perfect ending to what was a wonderful hockey season. What an amazing group of hockey playing kids, fun parents, excellent coaching and strong hockey playing.
Friday we traveled up to Point Lookout for a fun filled evening. Kids ran from cabin to cabin having a blast playing knee hockey. Parents hung around a big fire with drinks, food, fun and lots of laughs.
Saturday morning after a big breakfast, we headed to a team meeting in preparation for the boys first of three games in the Mid coast Winter Classic Squirt Hockey Tournament. In between inspiring words from the coaches, the boys burnt some nervous energy playing racket ball {or their version of the sport} and wii sports on a huge screen.
The first game as against the Casco Bay Wild and our boys won 5-1.  Woohooo.
We had a big break before the second game, so we headed back to the resort for some lunch. The parents relaxed while the kids played basketball, racket ball and more wii.  The coaches were not to happy when they found out the boys were exerting all their energy so we all headed back to our cabins for a short rest before heading back to the rink for game 2.
In game 2, we played the Twin City Titans {a team we have faced twice before and lost both times}. The kids played an amazing game and won 6-2.
Sunday morning, we were scheduled to play our third and final game of the scheduled games.  The boys beat the Casco Bay Maple Leafs 7-4.
This qualified the team as the #1 seed heading into the semi-finals.
The boys beat the Pirates 4-1 in the semi-finals.

We had to face the Twin City Titans again in the finals.  The boys were down 2-0 and looking really sleepy in the first period.  They ended up coming back and winning the game 6-4.

The Huskies won the tournament. Parents had tears in their eyes and the boys were beaming with joy.
I am so sad to see the season come to an end. It really was the perfect hockey season. The parents all had so much fun together. The boys all got along and also had a blast together.
What an exciting game and what a wonderful way to close out the season.
It is Monday morning and I am still smiling ear to ear. I am incredibly proud to be part of such a wonderful group of parents, coaches and kids.
