I did not take very many pictures of Christmas this year. At the moment, it felt good. I was completely in the moment with the joy and excitement of Christmas. Now I am regretful that I did not take pictures. I will miss having them.
Christmas Eve we had our annual Christmas Party with family and friends. It is always so much fun. A favorite night for sure. I look forward to it almost as much as Christmas day.

We had a blast playing games, chatting, laughing with great food and spirits.

Christmas was wonderful. The boys loved all their gifts and were very appreciative. I loved spending the day with my family. We always have so much fun.

It was another very Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas

from our family to yours!

We had a very blessed Thanksgiving!
I am so incredibly thankful for these people. Nolan hates having his picture taken unless he is in hockey gear on the ice. He really was not as miserable as he looks.

We spent the holiday weekend black Friday shopping, getting our Christmas tree, decorating the house and going to hockey games.

Five hockey games this weekend. I feel like I live at the ice rink.

Now between games, I am binge watching The Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

This year Griffin knew exactly what he wanted to be
a coke bottle. Only I could not find a coke bottle costume that would fit him so he was a coke can.
We have no idea where he got the idea that he wanted to be a coke bottle but he did not waiver on that one... maybe the first year he was absolutely sure as to what he wanted to be.

Nolan, at the last minute, decided he needed to load up on candy. He and his buddies quickly dressed up in their hockey jerseys and terrorized the neighborhood. The got way more candy than they could ever need in a very quick time frame. They had to get to hockey practice so they ran around like crazy boys to collect the massive amount of candy.
It was a fun night, even if it was a Monday and did not feel quite as Halloween-y as a weekend.

And of course, we missed Trevor. He did not tell me much, but I heard a rumor that he dressed up with his gf and some other friends as the characters from the Wizard of Oz.

Trevor's Soccer Game

A few days ago, Ash and I traveled way up north to visit Trevor for parents weekend.
It was a long but beautiful ride up. The trees and the colors were stunning. We stopped at the Mt. Katahdin look-out point to take some pictures.

And these pictures don't come close to doing the vibrant colors of the leaves justice. Just amazing how beautiful it was.

I met with Trevor's teachers for conferences. I left each conference feeling so proud. All the teachers talked about how much they enjoy having Trevor in their class, what an active participant he is and how naturally smart he is. So proud. The did say he was not working to his full potential. I would like to see him work harder but he is a teenage boy. Hopefully that will come with maturity. I am so incredibly blessed to be his mom.
Ash and I got to catch one of his soccer games.

It was freezing and windy but so fun to watch Trevor play soccer. He loves soccer so much.
They did not win the game even though they outplayed the other team.
Win or lose, I had a great time watching him in action.

It was a great couple days spent up in the county.

A Good Day For Soccer

Today was a good day for soccer... a very good day for soccer.
It started this morning with Nolan's soccer game. Nolan has been playing very well this season and today was no exception. He played hard all game.
He got pushed which got the other team a penalty in the box. Nolan kicked the penalty shot and hit the cross bar. It was so close. Nolan's team was up by quite a few goals but gave up their lead in the second half which had them at a tie game.
Very late in the second, Nolan scored a goal, with none other than his left foot.
It ended up being the game winning goal. Nolan's team had a 5-4 victory. It was a fun, exciting game.
In the afternoon, Griffin had two games. The boys are still learning positioning and passing. They all kind of bunch together.
The boys were losing and Griffin had a few good shots on goal with no success.  Finally, towards the end of the game, Griffin sends a beautiful ball in the air right to the goal. He scored!
His goal was perfect, but his celebrating was epic! I think he has the celebration down.
It is so exciting to score at that age. Even though they lost, I think Griffin was just happy to score his first goal of the season.
Today, was a great soccer day!

Trevor did not have a game today, but did not have such a great soccer day yesterday. He texted very upset at the outcome of his game. Not because they lost 2-1, but because the reffing was just horrible. I guess the calls were very one sided and the whole team was upset. Not every day can be a great soccer day!

First Day of School

Griffin started 3rd grade.  I know, I know how is it possible. He has grown up so much. If only for one day he could be a sweet baby.
But instead he is a big third grader! He has now moved to the second floor of the school. He has a great teacher who sends lots of pictures and emails. He started the first day of school as the teacher assistant. Of course, he is loving that and was the first to do the mystery bag.
He is happy and I am so glad. It will be a great year for Griffin.

Nolan reluctantly headed to the first day of school.
He did not want summer to end and was not ready to start the school year. He came home saying his first day was better than he expected. He likes his classes and his teachers. Even though he had homework, he was happy with his day. I'll take it.

Trevor is in his second week of school. He seems to have settled in nicely. He is starting for the varsity soccer team. We miss him tons but know he is happy and learning so much!

Nolan is a Teenager

Nolan is thirteen!
We celebrated Nolan's birthday with a beautiful, fun weekend at camp.
Nolan's favorites were all part of the celebration: best friend, Margarita's, tubing, lots of attention, funny cards, great gifts. All good for this thirteen year old.
He is at the "don't take my picture" phase so I had to beg and plead for the few pictures I got.

Happy birthday and happy first teen year to Nolan.
You are one loved boy  teenager!

Moving Back up to School

Rob and I just returned home from moving Trevor into his sophomore year of MSSM in Limestone. And let me tell you, I may not be as nervous, but I was still super sad to say goodbye to my baby.
On the way up, he said he was a little nervous. I was so not expecting that and that was hard for me to hear. Part of me wanted to turn the car right around and take him home. I know MSSM is where he belongs and he is so happy there. Once we arrived at the school, his nerves were completely gone. He was happy to catch up with all his friends and settle in to what is sure to be a great year.
His room is much more spacious this year and he only has one roommate who is a friend of his. There room is arranged very nicely and his roommate is neat so I am sure it will force Trevor to be very neat.

As hard as it is to say good bye, I know he is the the perfect place for him. He has so many great friends and a sweet girl friend. He is challenged and being stretched and will be so prepared for college.
Our view of the sunset on our way back from dinner.
I am so proud of Trevor and all he has and will accomplish!

The 4th

We had a wonderful 4th week at camp.

The 4th we celebrated in our red, white and blue with lobsters and fireworks.

The fireworks over our lake are always a favorite!

The rest of the week we soaked up the sun when it was out and on the few rainy days we went bowling and to the movies to see Finding Dory.

It was a great week full of fun, family time celebrating the county and our 17 year anniversary.
